Conference Goals
The conference is designed to:
- Disseminate diagnostic and educational assessment strategies so that early detection and appropriate services are provided to individuals with AD/HD.
- Exchange information regarding access to community services, educational legislation, academic approaches and eligibility for services.
- Educate professionals about agency collaboration, transition services, evidence-based practices, assistive technology and behavioral interventions.
Objectives
- To gain an understanding of educational assessment, identification and eligibility for K-12 and post-secondary students to include transition services
- Identify diagnostic strategies, differential diagnosis, co-morbidities, and treatment of individuals with AD/HD
- Achieve the ability to access and coordinate community services
- Learn about evidence-based practices across systems
- Explore behavioral intervention models
- Become aware of educational legislation and litigation affecting this target population
Who Should Attend?
- Education Professionals and Staff: Teachers, Instructors, Counselors, Psychometrists, Nurses, State Department Specialists, School Board Members
- Healthcare and Human Service Professionals and Staff: Behavioral Therapists, Neuropsychologists, Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Pediatricians, Physicians working with this population, Rehabilitation Counselors, Social Workers, Evaluators, Employment Specialists working with disabled persons
- Community Members: Parents, Students, Families, Clergy and church staff, Day Care Center staff, Tutors, Recreational Personnel (ex. YMCA, summer camps), Support Groups
